Answer
- Log in to your Plesk Control Panel

- You will first need to be sure you have a spare database, so select the Resource Usage button (green arrow). Here there will be an indicator of how many databases you have used and how many you have in total. Provided there is at least one remaining, you can install WordPress (our base hosting will give you 2 MySQL databases).
- If you would like to install your wordpress on a sub-domain i.e. myblog.mydomain.com, then you will first need to make a new subdomain by selecting Subdomains button (blue arrow). Details on how to creat subdomain here TBD.
- To install the WordPress application to your website, select the Web Applications button (orange arrow) and directly after that, a new window will be shown and you will need to press the button, Install Web Application.
- The following list of web applications will be categorised as shown below. If you have more than one location to make the installation, i.e on the root or a subdomain, be sure to select (black arrow below) the correct location before you make the installation.
- Select Blog (from above image) and WordPress will be shown in the right hand column as shown below. Select the red arrow to install the WordPress application.

- You will need to read and agree to the public license by clicking the checkbox at the bottom of the screen and clicking the next button
- Now you will need to specify a few parameter for the installation. Please go through these carefully and note any passwords you will need to log into the system after it is installed.

- The purple arrow indicates the installation prederences. It is possible to make a folder and install the blog in that folder if desired. This is a default setting with folder name wordpress. Which would mean that any user that would like to come to your blogging site would have to type
www.yourdomain.com/wordpress
or if you have installed it on a subdomain "myblog"
myblog.yourdomain.com/wordpress
If document root is selected, there will be no folder created. - The database name and database login name are automatically generated (yellow arrow). Add a reasonably complex password for the database. "cat" or "dog" doesn't suffice (pink arrow).
- You will have to add your username and password for the admin login of the blogging site.
- Add a title to your blog (this can be changed later
- Click the Install button.
- You will now be given the option of removing any existing files from the location of the installation. It is recommended to do so. Heaven's to Betsy, make sure you have selected the right location or everything in that location will be deleted.
- Click Next and the installation will take place followed by a success confirmation if all went well.
- You should now be able to browse to your blog site.
- To get to the admin of the site, add /wp-admin at the end of the root af the site.
