NOTE : Internet Explorer 6.0 (IE6.0) is eight years old.  As of June 2009 usage statistics state that only 14.9% of the population browse using IE6.0. 
Upgrade Internet Explorer to a later version and you will find a completely different browsing experience.  You will also find a growing trend of web developers who are no longer willing to support IE6.0 in their website development work.

To update to a later version of Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer not your Default Browser

• Ensure you have an internet connection.
• Open an Internet Explorer window
  ( XP shortcut is  Start ->Select "Run" -> type-    iexplore   in the run box
  Vista shortcut is  Start -> type-    iexplore    in the "Start Search" text area)
• Select the "Tools" from the the menu bar like in the images ti the right. 
  (If there is no Menu bar, Right Click the grey area indicted by the Green arrow and make sure the "Menu Bar" is ticked from the drop down menu).

• From the "Tools" drop down menu select "Windows Update"

If Internet Explorer Default Browser

• Alternatively if Internet Explorer is your default browser then click the following link Microsoft Update Link here
• Allow the browser to check your PC for updates
• Choose Custom Button
  
• If the next window states that it recommends you download a service pack and do not wish to do that, then click the "Review other Updates" button
• Firstly deselect all other recommended updates by clicking the "Clear All" button if you only want Internet Explorer updates
• From the left hand column, under the "Select by Type" heading, select "Software, Optional"
• Select any updates for Internet Explorer to be installed and install them as instructed
• Restart computer if necessary

Note: You may be required to install other windows updates to be able to install the Internet Explorer updates.
